Non-teaching staff across Assam have intensified their demand for immediate regularisation of services, announcing a statewide ‘Dispur Chalo’ protest on November 25. The workers, representing various educational institutions, accused the government of prolonged neglect despite years of service under temporary appointments. They stressed that job insecurity, delayed wages and lack of benefits have pushed them to the brink. Union leaders warned that thousands will march to Dispur if their demands are not met. They urged the state government to introduce a clear policy for regularisation and address long-pending grievances to avoid further agitation.
