Tezpur, June 6: The famous litchis of Tezpur are poised to reach international markets, with plans underway to export the fruit to Dubai and Singapore. The announcement came during the second edition of the Tezpur Litchi Festival, which began on Saturday amid great enthusiasm.
The festival brought together farmers, traders, entrepreneurs, and agricultural experts to promote the region’s prized fruit and explore new business opportunities. Organizers highlighted the exceptional quality, sweetness, and aroma of Tezpur litchis, which have earned a strong reputation among consumers.
Officials revealed that special efforts are being made to expand exports and improve market access for local growers. Adding to the excitement, a consignment of Tezpur litchis is also expected to be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a showcase of Assam’s agricultural excellence.
The festival reflects growing confidence in Assam’s fruit industry and promises better income opportunities for farmers in the region.
